The Old Navy Style Council Sample & Share ~ Get Dolled Up in Old NavyDresses!
Back at the end of February I was invited to apply for another Old Navy Style Council Sample & Share event, which I'm always super excited about! Pictured here is my coupons I received from Old Navy through Crowdtap (Click on "Crowdtap" if you want to join & here's a link to tell you more about Crowdtap)and I get to keep the free clothing in exchange for an honest review from me through blog & online report.
I like to try and choose someone different just about every time I get something like this to be fair and meet new people and this time I chose a lady that is involved in a lot of church activities and my daughter gets the pleasure of meeting with her every Wednesday night for Awana. This lady has touched my heart with how she always seems to be able to keep it together even though her husband travels a lot and she really has given me a reality check when I complain about the same thing! Anyways, I gave her the coupon just to let her know that we appreciate her service for the church and that I value our friendship. I'm really not sure if she was able to redeem her coupon in time though because she has been really busy recently. It made me happy though just to give it to her with the positive words I told her.
Right! On with the Review...
This little girl is my shopping buddy and her name is Katelyn,(Ive got the cutest little video I will post at the end of my review with her in it and I named it "Old Navy Dancing Diva") shes 18 months old and Daddy was keeping her occupied while I was picking out my dress selections. Shes wearing her little Bunny Peeps shirt from ON we bought last year & Daddy found this cute little hat so I snapped a picture.
Here's the link to this tote but in tan: http://oldnavy.gap.com/browse/product.do?cid=12815&vid=1&pid=898077&scid=898077012
She wanted to trade the hat for a purse...nice selection Kate, going on a beach trip? :)
I had just made all of my selections and headed for the dressing room. I know the attendant was giving me "that look" but she was really nice in offering me the biggest fitting room so I took it! I put everything down to snap a few pics of myself and baby girl before I handed the camera off to my sweetie.
I know I should have come to ON with the dress I picked last year but I did include it in my photos further down. This is what I chose to wear to the store (yeah I know I could have done better but I don't get out that much anymore sadly).
Distracted my sweet little angel to take a pic of the hat I chose for the dresses, it looks cute on her as well :)
To save some time and camera space I just grabbed a sweater/jacket to try on with each dress instead of trying on each sweater/jacket with all the dresses. I wanted to make different styles for different outings but after rushing to put them together it didn't work out so well. I will say I loved all the sweater/jackets I chose and the prices weren't that bad either! I'm tempted to go back and get this sweater as it would work with a lot in my current wardrobe. I'm not sure if this was black or chocolate colored but I looked it up online and the style matches "Locomotive" & "Cool Combo" pictured below. I loved the feel of the fabric (smocked chiffon) but I'm not a fan of the ruffles too much...I could make it work if I had worn the right undergarments, lol!
Here's the link for the same style dress I chose: http://oldnavy.gap.com/browse/product.do?cid=50186&vid=1&pid=114028&scid=114028012 I actually liked this one better because of the different colors blended together (teal, violet & navy) and I could just throw this on and meet my sweetie for a spur of the moment lunch date & I could wear it to church as well if I wanted. I thought the jacket (sorry I couldn't find the link for this one after numerous times looking for it) paired nicely with the dress as well and it could be worn for a date night of dinner and a movie or a girls night out!
I love cardis...I have a cream & black one I bought from ON last year and I was tempted to buy the other colors available here: http://oldnavy.gap.com/browse/product.do?cid=60783&vid=1&pid=115955 The only difference with the ones there is that they don't button up and this one obviously does, which I shouldn't have done to show off the ruffles on the top of this dress(again not really a fan of that or that it appears that this dress wrinkles with every little movement you make!). I am a fan of the silky feel of the dress and that's why I chose it to try on (couldn't find the link to show it up close). I look back at this photo and could have made the dress work by changing up the type of cover up I chose to use. I think the jean jacket or fitted blazer could have made a no into a yes for me in a dress choice.
I'm a sucker for accessories especially shoes, so just imagine me picking up all the cute shoes and throwing them into my big blue Old Navy bag because that's what I was doing...lol! The shoes at the top right are the ones I bought with the dress I got for free last year...love them because they give me some height, I'm 5"4 or 5"5 on a good day, lol! I really love anything shiny so if I had to pick one it would be those with the starfish because it would go great with the dress I chose for a fun day at the beach :)
Here is my "before dress" that I chose and received for free last year. It was perfect because I wore it for Easter Egg hunts, Easter Sunday service & Mothers Day.
I chose to pair the "winning dress" with the sweater shrug & canvas tote that was pictured before but I think even the white cardi would look nice with this one. It was hard to decide on the blue or red since I took both in and liked them both. I like that it has the option to be strapless or like pictured below, as a halter top. It also fits nicely and comes right to my knee (I think that is a perfect length in a dress for me). I would pair this with some aviators & the starfish bling flip flops then be good to go for a day at the beach with my family.
Intermission....
About halfway through my fashion show my daughter starts dancing to the music Old Navy has playing and then later on she starts stripping! I think its probably because I was changing so much and she wanted me to give her something to try on too. I figure that's what shes doing because of the next picture you're about to see...
"Here Mommy" lol!
Now this was a simple black dress that had a bunch of ruffles gathered in the front and it went down the dress. I liked it but not enough for a Springtime dress because I love colorful prints more. I also really loved the fitted blazer but it didn't make this outfit a must have sadly.
Here's the same dress as pictured above but paired with a grey cardi, which I like a lot better! Almost got this but decided for a more Springtime look. I have a black shirt with ruffles similar to this dress :)
As our shopping trip came to an end and I decided on my final choice in dress, the "Women's Ruffled Crepe Tube Dress" in "Nebulous Blue", I decided to make 2 impulse buys at the register. I couldn't resist a $1 rainbow colored bracelet that had water and glitter in it and a pack of 9 Girls Multi-Color Headbands in "Warm Multi" http://oldnavy.gap.com/browse/product.do?searchCID=68131&vid=1&pid=897731&scid=897731012
