Popped Passion Customized Popcorn Cakes
Life is better popped!
February was a busy month for us. We had our youngest celebrate his 2nd birthday and several other things pop up. Since he was born on the 9th, I don't do much around Valentine's day other than celebrate his birthday and make some treats for the older kiddos.
This year was a little different because I made a special mini Valentine's party for the whole family and the kids enjoyed having their very own popcorn cake be the star of the show. Jon (pictured above) thought that this was HIS cake and he would not give it up for quite some time.
Everyone gathered all around the kitchen island to inspect this cute Insta-worthy popcorn that just screams all things Valentine's day and to take a bite already. Since we were just sharing as a family we didn't even bother with cutting into it and just picked pieces off that we wanted right away.
I was in awe to see the Valentine's colored sprinkles mixed with jelly beans, M&Ms, and white chocolate, among the occasional gummy bear and skittles. I secretly wished for more gummy bears as they were an added bonus to this perfect holiday or anytime treat.
The presentation of this popcorn cake was like none I had ever seen before but then again I have never ordered a cake to have shipped to me from out of state before. The cake itself was fully protected and then wrapped nicely to preserve freshness. To top that off it had an attractive bow. I was shocked at how fresh this popcorn cake was since we did not have it for maybe 4-5 days after it was shipped. The pairing of both salty and sweet was very desirable and I didn't hear any complaints.
Once we had enough, we simply placed it on the cake stand and covered it up. It lasted maybe a day or two after we opened it because it was just that good. We enjoyed it just as you might eat a popcorn ball. It was a little sticky due to the marshmallow mixed in but we didn't care.
